This is the best way to contact us as we are a family business running from
home so with looking after family as well as running the websites, putting
kits together and designing patterns etc it is hard
for us to get to the phone at times. We try to answer every email within 2
days. One of our pet peeves is companies who do not reply to your emails. If
you have not received a reply from us within 2 days please email your query
again, occasionally spam blockers stop the receipt of legitimate emails. We
also have a contact us page in our online shop where you can type your
message online.

get to the phone, an answering machine will take your messages. Please leave

Frequently Asked
Questions
-
How often are new kits added?
We try to add kits regularly. Alot of the kits will be converted from the same images as our cross stitch
patterns from our other website
Artecy Cross Stitch. If you see a pattern
on the Artecy website you would like also to be a Pixelhobby kit or if you
want a different size kit for a design we have, let us know and we will do
our best to get it for you.
- Can I convert a current cross stitch design into a Pixelhobby design myself? Some
of the Pixelhobby colours are similar to DMC cottons but many are not,
there are also only 312 pixelhobby colours available. So there is no
conversion table from DMC to Pixelhobby available.
In our cross stitch software we have the ability to convert the cross
stitch colours for our own Artecy cross stitch patterns into Pixelhobby
colours and it never converts well. Also as Pixelhobby uses standard
size baseplates of 4 x 5 inches and multiples of these, your patterns
would have to fit to these dimensions.
We have to actually rechart each Pixelhobby design from scratch using
pixelhobby colours. So our cross stitch designs are redesigned from
scratch in Pixelhobby.
-
Do you offer just patterns instead of kits?
- At this stage we only offer kits, we have no plans to offer the
patterns by themselves as in the end this will cost customers more.
-
What do I do with the leftover pixels from
kits?
- You will have leftover pixels in the kits, you can use them with the
keyrings or for your own designs and just order extra baseplates and
pixels as needed. The pixel squares from Pixelhobby are sustainably
produced from bio-plastics. The raw materials for these bioplastics
come from bio-ethanol that has been converted from sugar cane and are
100% recyclable.
-
Do you sell these kits anywhere else? We
opened Pixelhobby Australia in November 2009. We do sell our designs in the US through https://pixelartusa.com/ and https://www.herrschners.com/category/herrschners/craft+and+hobby/craft+kits/mosaics.do
-
How much roughly does it cost?
- It costs $10 per baseplate with pixels and the design sheets before
postage. So a 2 baseplate design is $20 a 3 baseplate design is $30 and
so on.
-
How long does it take to complete? - If
you work non stop you could complete 1 Baseplate in around 6 - 7 hours. Be
sure to take regular breaks though. It can be very addictive.
-
Do you offer custom designs from my photos?
- We would love to offer this service but we are just so limited with time at
this stage so we cannot unfortunately. We may offer this service down the track if time
permits. In the meantime you will find the Pixelhobby app is free and
easy to use for your own creations.
-
Can I create designs for myself from any
image on the internet? - You have to be very careful with copyright so
check the photographers or websites terms of use first. If they say you can
use the image for personal use you should be fine, but do not pass the
pattern or completed item to anyone else for profit or not.
-
What sizes do the kits come in? The kits
vary in sizes and some kits we have in various sizes. Please note the
smaller the design the less detail it will have and some large detailed
images will be impossible to shrink down to 1 or 2 Baseplate designs. Below
is a guide on the sizes, 1 Baseplate is 4" x 5" so multiple baseplates are
made up of increments of this size. I have stopped at 35 Baseplates but you
can keep going higher. The highlighted numbers below are the most popular
sizes.
